Got inspired by the recent VAZ made musics by Vladosh .. see https://electro-music.com/forum/topic-74582.html - they are very nice!
Made a Wren patch and a short recording with it
In the recording it has 2 voice polyphony.
The sample song used in the wave player module is a from a vinyl recording of northern german languages and dialects including some that are spoken outside germany. It was made some 50 years ago by a german language professor .. if my memory serves me right there. Most recordings are spoken and some, like the one used here, are sang. I think it to be in the public domain.
An endless version, endless till stopped then, tomorrow or so, will be on the radio: https://electro-music.com/radio/ select radio 6 there.
Added the recording, an image of the patch, the patch itself and the wave file that is to be put in the sample player.

i like it ,just one thing is i am reserved about using samples ,it's just something ... i use samples mostly like this : i pitch down a loop an octave and it drives an envelope follower .. so mostly to get some cv from the follower ,WREN has so many modules is so easy to get lost ,for now i'll stick to VAZ for a while until it lasts _________________ http://synthacks.blogspot.com/ шематикс |

That's a pretty wild track there!
Wren's oscillators have a quality though -- they seem kind of haunting. I can't quite put my finger on it. I have found that quality in my work with Wren.
Anyway, in your track, the pitched sounds really frame the samples nicely.
Thanks for posting. _________________ -- Kevin

Heh, was not haunting enough .. .. for the sample i later used the us of a national hymn .. as played by a military band - the patch needed mods too .. but anyway .. not for publishing .. at least not yet .. i never know
And thank you Kevin and Vladosh for your comments _________________ Jan

That was an interesting listen. Nice work! Wren is very impressive. I need to spend some more time with it. _________________ JacobWatters.com |
